A perfect match come rain or shine: Lumo backs Pride Radio with weather sponsorship

Pride Radio, an inclusive community radio station based in the North East of England, has welcomed onboard the award-winning rail operator Lumo as its new weather sponsor. 
The forecast for the new partnership is looking bright as Lumo will help listeners keep track of the weather throughout their day across the UK. 
The announcement follows Lumo supporting a record number of Pride events this year, including Newcastle Pride, which saw Lumo give Pride Radio a £1,000 donation to help the station broadcast live from the popular event. 

Lumo also launched a redesigned Pride train earlier this year, giving a platform to the LGBTQ+ organisations the low-cost operator proudly supports across its route, recognising the people, partnerships and communities that make Pride possible.

The train features the logos of Pride Radio, OUT North East, Edinburgh Pride and Glasgow’s Pride, reflecting the operator’s commitment to supporting inclusion not only during Pride season, but throughout the year.



Lumo operates two successful routes across the UK, giving customers an affordable and comfortable way to travel, whatever the weather. Its fully electric East Coast route connects Glasgow and Edinburgh with Newcastle and London King’s Cross. The operator also launched a new highly anticipated West Coast route in the spring, offering regular connections for communities including Stirling, Preston, Carlisle and London.

Pride Radio broadcasts across the UK on 89.2FM, DAB, online and throughout the world on the free Pride World Media app. 127 countries tune in to the station, including 38 countries where it is illegal to be LGBT+ and seven where it is punishable by death.
