Lumo Connecting Deepdale and London for the new Football Season

Published 21 Aug 2026

Lumo has scored an exciting new partnership with Preston North End FC as the open access rail operator is the club's new Official Rail Travel Partner.

In a year when Preston will make five trips to the capital across their Championship season, Lumo is providing affordable travel to fans attending games starting at Charlton Athletic and then against QPR, Millwall, Watford and West Ham.

Lumo began a new service connecting London and Stirling via Preston in May, and offers affordable travel starting from under £30, giving fans a chance to sneak in a cheeky away fixture as well as home games at Deepdale.

Mike Roberts, Partnerships Manager at Lumo, said: “Preston North End and the railway are two of the things that make the city what it is, and two key parts of our history. We’re proud to be part of that story at Lumo and thrilled to be offering an affordable and exciting way to travel to the capital.”

Preston North End’s Head of Strategic Partnerships, Jonathan Breeze, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Lumo as Preston North End’s Official Rail Travel Partner. Their new service provides our supporters with an affordable and convenient way to follow the Lilywhites, particularly for our fixtures in London this season. We look forward to working closely together to benefit both our fans and the wider Preston community.””

Lumo runs five services each day between London Euston and Preston, with four connecting Preston with Stirling and destinations across Scotland’s Central Belt.

Lumo recently scored an impressive 90% overall customer satisfaction score in the Rail Customer Experience Survey (RCXS), placing the operator firmly among the three highest-performing long-distance train operators for the period covering October 2025 to March 2026. Lumo was also top of the league table for value for money
