This month, Lumo was the proud sponsor of the Accessibility and Inclusive Tourism award with managing director, Martijn Gilbert, presenting the top prize to Newcastle’s Life Science Centre.
The North East England Tourism Awards were celebrated on Thursday 23 March 2023 at Newcastle’s Civic Centre.
The awards play a key role in celebrating and showcasing the range of quality tourism businesses that visitors to the North East encounter. The tourism sector continues to be the fourth largest in the region, highlighting the importance of the businesses working in the sector to the wider economy.
The Life Science Centre is a charity dedicated to enriching people’s lives through science. The centre hosts a range of activities for families including live science shows, creativity studios and a planetarium.
Managing director, Martijn Gilbert, said: “Last week we attended the North East England Tourism Awards where we sponsored the Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Award, which was won by Newcastle’s Life Science Centre (Centre for Life). It was another great opportunity to raise the profile of our brand and promote our services within the regional tourism economy”
