Lumo celebrates National Apprenticeship Week

with exciting new opportunities in Scotland and England

Published 10 Feb 2026

Leading open access operator Lumo is offering a range of exciting opportunities to join the growing company as it celebrates National Apprenticeship Week (9-15 February).

Lumo is searching for passionate Customer Experience Ambassadors based in either Stirling or London. Successful applicants will be able to embark on an apprenticeship that will lead to them taking on a role where they support customers on their journeys, offering a seamless travel experience.

The opportunities are part of Lumo’s new route which will provide daily services between Stirling and London Euston, enhancing travel choice for customers with an operator that’s renowned for being both affordable and reliable. It will complement Lumo’s existing successful East Coast route which launched in 2021 and continues to serve customers between London, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

65 Lumo colleagues have successfully completed a Lumo apprenticeship to date, with roles ranging from Customer Drivers to Customer Experience Ambassadors. Lumo proudly works with Train’d Up, a renowned provider of apprenticeships. The partnership has enabled Lumo to create opportunities within the rail industry for those from all walks of life.

Jen Clare, Service Delivery Director at Lumo, said: “This is a very exciting time to join an incredible team as we prepare to launch a new route that will further boost connectivity between Scotland and England.

“Lumo is a positive, encouraging and inclusive place to work and we’re passionate about giving opportunities to people regardless of their previous career or background. Launching a new route gives us the chance to bring the culture that we’re renowned for to even more communities and that’s something I’m thrilled about. If you think any of these opportunities might be for you then we’d love to hear from you!”

Lumo is also currently offering a rare opportunity for Qualified Customer Drivers to join the team on the East Coast Main Line. Successful drivers will need to be passionate about creating a safe, healthy and environmentally sustainable experience for customers and colleagues.

Lumo is proud to be an inclusive workplace, recently being awarded the Clear Assured Bronze Standard, a globally-recognised accolade that’s awarded to businesses which can demonstrate their commitment to inclusivity and diversity.

The rail operator also secured a place in the top three rail companies in the first Rail Customer Experience published in December; recognising Lumo’s approach to great value customer service.
