Business leaders from across the Forth Valley have experienced first-hand the benefits of Lumo’s new West Coast rail service, as part of a partnership with one of the region’s fastest-growing business networks.
The leading open access operator teamed up with the Binos Business Community to host a special networking journey for members, showcasing the service launched earlier this year linking Stirling directly with London.
The Binos Business Community, established in early 2026 to foster long-term and meaningful business relationships across the region, invited 30 members to join a return trip between Stirling and Carlisle. The journey provided an opportunity for local business leaders to network, exchange ideas and explore how improved rail connectivity can support economic growth.
Guests were given the exclusive opportunity to sample Lumo’s new India Pale Ale, Lumo-nescence, created by Cheshire-based Beartown Brewery. The event also highlighted Lumo’s commitment to supporting local suppliers, with products from Stirling Distillery set to be introduced onboard from December.
Karen Paton, Customer Experience Manager at Lumo, said: “This event has been a brilliant opportunity to welcome some of our local partners on board and hear from them about how Lumo can support them and their businesses. We’re committed to supporting the local communities on our route and this was the perfect way to make new connections.”
Ian Osborne, Chair of Binos Business Community, added: “The team at Lumo have put their heart and soul into making amazing relationships in Stirling and with local businesses. On the train we saw dozens of local businesses sharing stories, expertise and contacts to help us thrive in the future. Lumo put on amazing hospitality and there was an incredible buzz in the group.”
Lumo currently operates four services each way between Stirling and London Euston, serving destinations including Crewe, Preston and Carlisle. The route has also improved connectivity for communities across central Scotland, including Whifflet, Greenfaulds and Larbert, providing direct access to destinations in England for the first time in many years. The launch of the service has also delivered investment in the local economy, including the creation of hundreds of new jobs and apprenticeships.
