Popular open access rail operator, Lumo, has strengthened its support for Newcastle Eagles Women becoming the team's principal shirt sponsor for the 2026/27 Super League Basketball season.
The Newcastle-based rail operator will move from the back of the team's jerseys to the front of the new season kit as part of an expanded partnership with one of the North East's most successful sporting organisations.
Lumo has supported Newcastle Eagles Women since 2024 and the partnership has coincided with a highly successful period for the team, including a historic Play-Off Final appearance and a record third-place finish in 2025.
The operator's branding will feature across the club's new home and away kits, as well as a special-edition gold third strip being worn by both the Eagles men's and women's teams during the club's 30th anniversary season.

Lumo continues to support the Eagles away from the court too, with players and staff regularly travelling on the operator's services to fixtures in London and other destinations across the South.
Khalid Amin, Head of Marketing at Lumo, said: “Our regional sports teams are at the very heart of the communities we serve, and that's why we're proud to be expanding our partnership with Newcastle Eagles Women this season.
"Since we first partnered with the team, we've seen the programme continue to go from strength to strength and we're delighted to play an even bigger role as the club celebrates a landmark year.
"We're committed to supporting organisations that bring people together, inspire communities and make a positive difference across the North East. The Eagles embody all of those values."
Paul Blake, Managing Director at Newcastle Eagles, added: “Lumo’s support of the club and our women’s franchise has been a huge boost.
“Having such a high-profile national partner that shares our values has helped strengthen the programme both on and off the court.
“We’re delighted to see them increase that commitment by moving to the front of the jersey for what promises to be a memorable season.
“As we celebrate 30 years of Eagles basketball and look ahead to another exciting year for our women’s team, we look forward to continuing to build our partnership with Lumo.”
Lumo operates affordable, great value services connecting the North East of England with destinations including London, Edinburgh and Glasgow, alongside West Coast services serving Carlisle and Stirling with London, helping customers travel sustainably while supporting the communities along the routes.
