North-East based rail operator Lumo, a national leader in customer service, has teamed up with the Glasgow star Bev Lyons to launch an exciting social media competition to mark the annual National Customer Service Week.
The celebration of the vital role of customer service in organisations is held during the first full week of October each year. It gives companies the chance to honour their customers and is designed to reinforce the importance of delivering excellent service.
Lumo has launched a competition which actively promotes a range of key partner attractions in a number of the communities that it serves. The distinctive campaign draws on the strength of Lumo’s powerful local partnerships.
Prizes available include a luxury weekend stay in Hilton Newcastle Gateshead for two people, including Lumo train travel, a family trip to Beamish Museum, the Living Museum of the North for up to four people, including Lumo train travel and an additional £100 Eldon Square shopping voucher. There is also the unique offering of a Lumo Train Simulator Experience in Newcastle, plus Lumo train travel.
Lumo’s National Customer Service Week initiative coincides with the announcement of its much-anticipated Glasgow fares. The company will extend its current route, to stop at Glasgow Queen Street from December, with selected 2026 advance tickets starting from just £33.90 when customers book direct. Advance tickets between Glasgow and Newcastle, meanwhile, start from just £10.90.
Lumo’s most recent customer satisfaction scores secured the operator as the leading transport company for customer service according to the Institute of Customer Service. The operator also recently achieved the ServiceMark Accreditation from the Institute of Customer Service, a prestigious national benchmark that recognises organisations that have outstanding customer service and are striving for continuous improvement.
Glasgow-based broadcaster, Bev Lyons, said: “It’s been fabulous to be part of this fun project with Lumo, who are incredibly focused on positive customer experiences. I’m very excited that Lumo will be serving Glasgow very soon and can’t wait to see all of the opportunities that will bring for local people!”
Jen Clare, Service Delivery Director at Lumo, said: “We’re thrilled to launch this unique competition for National Customer Service Week. It ties perfectly into our range of local partnerships and offers something back to our loyal customers. With even more travel opportunities coming soon with Lumo, it’s important that we recognise the customers who support our business, as they will help us maintain those high standards as we grow and diversify.”
Lumo is also giving randomly selected customers the chance to win a number of prizes when they travel with the operator throughout this week. Simply choose a Lumo service for the chance to win.
